From
Johannesburg take the N1 to Polokwane (Pietersburg).
Passing Midrand, Centurion and Pretoria to the 1st
of three toll gates.
• Pumulani Plaza - drive 35 km to,
• Carousel Plaza - drive 64.7 km to,
• Kranskop Plaza - Exit the toll road using the left
hand pay booth.
At the stop turn left onto the R33 to Modimolle /
Nylstroom.
Follow the R33 through Modimolle / Nylstroom 8km on.
Pass straight through the town towards Vaalwater
64km on.
Pass straight through Vaalwater to Zeederberg SPAR
on your left hand side.
Keep to the left at the split in the road.
You will pass the Bakkers pass turn-off and Shambala
Reserve (zig-zag fencing).
After 12 km turn left onto the sand road at the
‘Welgevonden East Gate’ sign. This turn off is where
the zig-zag fencing on the left hand side of the
road stops.
Continue for 8km on the Sand Road that terminates in
the Welgevonden East Gate.
